Spicy goings on in Algarve

SPECIAL EVENT!
Normally our restaurant is open in the weekends only for lunch, but on
special request our Chef will prepare an extensive "INDONESIAN RIJSTTAFEL"
at Wednesday May 28th at 19.00hrs.

- SOTO AJAM, Indonesian chicken broth
-RIJSTTAFEL BULAN MARET, a wonderful composition of 14 dishes including
beef, chicken pork and vegetables.

- SPEKKOEK, Indonesian layer cake with cinnamon.

Water and wine are included.

Do you really want to spoil yourself on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon?
Then let us take you with us into a nice oriental atmosphere in our
colonial style restaurant, where we serve your lunch outside at the
veranda or inside, just as you please.
Our Chef will prepare a fixed menu consisting of:
- a starter
-"Rijsttafel" : a composition of lovely pork-, beef- and chicken dishes,
vegetables and side dishes like chicken satay, sweet sour salad etc.
- a dessert
- wine, water and coffee are included.
- price for each person: ? 19,50 Unfortunately we can only accept
payment in cash!

Of course you will find all dishes cooked with fine spices from The Girdle
of Emerald(as Indonesia is called by the Dutch).
You will relax in the quiet surrounding, over viewing the hills while you
enjoy your lunch and dream away.

Please notice that it is essential to make a reservation, because the
dishes are prepared long before your arrival to give them the wonderful
flavours.

Thomas Hartmann and Don Ao fulfilled their dream to live and work in Portugal by recently opening the Bulan Maret Restaurant (moon of March). Thomas, previously the owner and Chef of Tujuh Maret in Amsterdam and Don, previously owner and chef of Tempo Doeloe in Amsterdam have created this lovely, new restaurant just 5 minutes away from Portimão on the way to Silves and Monchique. The atmosphere is unique: it feels like you are in Bali: the beautiful veranda, palm trees and the "pendopo", the tables in the garden with the rooflets, like in Indonesia. The interior is delightfully elegant and relaxed.
Chef Ao Don cooks Menadonese, rather spicy, but mild dishes as well. The lovely, exotic dishes include: Udang Madura, Grilled Prawns served with a sauce of Coconut and Macadamia nuts served with White rice and vegetables, Gulai Donba, stewed in a sauce of Coconut and Lemongrass.
